Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are your terms of use for this site?
A: The site is operated for the benefit of the people of North Leigh and the surrounding areas. We aim to keep the site as simple and straightforward as possible, with the minimum of legal or official overhead. Nevertheless, there are a few areas which are worth covering:

You may not use any elements of this site for financial gain without first obtaining permission from the copyright holders.

All information is published in good faith based on information supplied at the time of initial publication. The Nor'Lye News Group cannot guarantee that it is accurate, up to date or appropriate for your needs. You must confirm an entry yourself if an error / change would cause serious inconvenience. Updates and corrections are welcome via the contact methods outlined on the Contact page.

Disclaimer

Personal Information
Personal information is published only by express agreement with the individual and is handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

It is not shared with any third party.

This Nor'Lye News site is exempted from registering under the Data Protection Act as it is a 'small, not-for-profit' entity. However, as good practice, we do observe the 8 Data Protection principles.

Accessibility
The website aims to be as accessible as possible to a wide range of users, using World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards as a starting point. All constructive comments and suggestions are welcome.

Moderation
Given that publishing information on a website carries much the same legal responsibility as other media with regards to libel, content to this site can only be uploaded or modified via the Editor, allowing moderation at source. While a Content Management System would considerably ease that process and Forums might appear attractive, both of these carry too much risk for the Nor'Lye News Group and so are not available.
